PV for All in the Greece-Albania Cross-Border Area

Philosophy of PV

The physical process, in which a photovoltaic element converts solar energy into electricity, is called the "photovoltaic effect". The incidence of light on the surface of a material results in a part of it being absorbed by the material. Some materials show the property of converting the energy of the photon incident on them, into electrical energy.

Photovoltaic Element (cell)

The photovoltaic cell is the minimum structural unit to produce electricity through light radiation. Depending on the material from which they are made, they fall under the categories: monocrystalline silicon "mono", polycrystalline silicon "poly", thin films "ribbon" and amorphous silicon "a-Si".
